With the current state of the ecomony many people our searching for last minute deals. There certainly are many hot items in the marketplace as overall occupancy rates are down and suppliers are trying to find some bookings. The catch is that you need to be flexible on your travel schedule. Many potential clients are looking for typical travel dates around school breaks and holidays. Unfortunately these are not the times when suppliers are generally offering deals as the demand is high.

Another thing to consider is utilizing your miles or vouchers for airline travel. It may be that airlines start charging a pre-trip fee for travelers to collect miles on their trips. You have to pay for meals, bags, even pillows, and soon you will pay for miles as well.

In addition many airlines are cutting back on the number of flights due to the lack of travelers. This makes it very hard to find reasonable airfare to match a great hotel/tour option that may be out there.

Bottom line- be flexible if you want a deal.
